Painting is like tending a garden. As an artist, I am only planting pigment on the paper. The painting will grow best with a minimal amount of fuss.

I choose watercolors since it flows, adding a liberating feeling to the creative process. I believe there should be movement in a painting conveyed by visible brush strokes and contrast of values and colors and aided by the fluid nature of watercolor.

Ultimately, successful art creates a viewer connection. Connecting art is that which you see, feel and experience. Good artwork suggests a story, containing clues but still having a mystery element.
